Learn how to break down objects into shapes! In a small class, learn from artist and art educator, Michelle Asarch, how to break down both simple and complex images and objects by simplifying them into their most basic components.

Suggested materials to bring: a sketchbook, pencil or mechanical pencil, shading pencil (4B, 6B, or 8B,) and an eraser. Any brand is fine.

Have you wanted to learn how to create a 3-Dimensional looking drawing on a 2-Dimensional piece of paper? Then this class is for you! Learn how to create realistic highlights and shadows using only pencils and eraser to make your drawings look realistic.

How can you break down a photo of an animal into its smaller shapes in order to best draw it? And then how can you render it to look 3D using shading techniques? This class will address the steps needed to take on this intimidating task.

Thursday July 31 - How to draw a portrait of a person Class for Adults

Where should you draw the nose in relation to the eyes? How do you even know how to draw a nose! This lesson approaches the prompt of how to draw a proportionate, realistic portrait of a person of your choice. This will be looking at a drawing from straight-ahead, with some tips to draw 3/4 view and profile view, but mostly focusing on straight-ahead.

Suggested materials to bring: a sketchbook, pencil or mechanical pencil, shading pencil (4B, 6B, or 8B,) and an eraser. Any brand is fine.

Learn How to Draw and Shade Eyes with Michelle Asarch

Whether or not you consider yourself an artist, come, draw, learn, and be part of our community! This class will be in Zoom, with the link going out the day before. We'll focus on techniques of how to draw and shade an eye a few different ways to look at realistic and stylized rendering of eyes. Have some tea, coffee, or wine nearby and get ready to enjoy!

If you are using a computer, you do not need to have Zoom downloaded, it'll just open right up. If you're using an iPad or tablet to join, you should download Zoom beforehand to not lose any time. Please have a sketchbook, or paper on a clipboard, a pencil, and an eraser ready. You're more than welcome to use different mediums or different supplies - totally your choice!
The format is pay what you can, with a suggested amount of $5 or $10. Similar to Yoga to the People, if $1 is reasonable for you, or if $15 is reasonable for you, you can give whatever you thought the class was worth for you. Venmo is @MichelleRose28
