About the Artist

“While her early work experimented with a variety of mediums like ceramics, bronze, photography, and wax, Michelle is deeply passionate about drawing and painting the human figure. Her aesthetic connection to the body is tied to her contemplation and reflection on the human condition and all its facets. Her figure studies, imbued with contrast between light and shade are meditations and essays on the inherent complexities of the human being. Through her work she explores deeply personal themes drawing from her own, sometimes painful experiences but also from a deep sense of empathy and compassion.”
